WOMEN OF GOD: SARAH.

WOMEN OF GOD: BIBLICAL WOMEN TELL US…..

From Genesis to the Gospels, the lives of women remind of what faith looks like in the purest and the most powerful forms. Each of their stories can impart hope into our hearts. There’s a core ingredient that ties them all together: A DELIGHT IN THE LORD, especially in the dark days of life.

They were by no means perfect, but their faith stood the test. Their statements point us to the infinite worth of Christ.

“ Blessed is the woman who remains steadfast under trial, for when she has stood the test she will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.” ( James 1:12).

SARAH: “ GOD HAS MADE ME LAUGH….”.

“…. everyone who hears will laugh over me.” ( Genesis 21:6)

Why does Sarah laugh with joy?
Because God had surprised her beyond her wildest dreams. He had proven that nothing is too hard for Him. ( Genesis 18:14)
Through a barren woman far beyond her child-bearing years,
“The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised.” ( Genesis 21:1) He gave her a son.
Few lessons we can learn from Sarah in the Bible:
(1) NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD:
Bearing a child in the elderly years. For most of us, even with medical interventions, this would be impossible, but God isn’t limited to the laws of biology. When you face seemingly impossible situation on earth, submit it to God. He’s able to do more than anything we can ask or imagine. Nothing is impossible for Him. Keep in mind, however, God answers prayers but not always answer in the way we think. He has plans we can’t even fathom.
(2) GOD ALWAYS DELIVERS ON HIS PROMISES
Many years of wait, God delivered His promise to Abraham and Sarah. The Bible is full of promises that God made to us and while sometimes you may not feel Him, but He’s there, keeping all of His promises to you.
(3) GOD’s TIMING IS ALWAYS PERFECT:
God always answers, but in His perfect timing and not ours. As he says in Isiah 55, “ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not you ways….”
(4) PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE:
Sarah and Abraham waited for years with patience. Sarah is a beautiful example of practicing patience.

Our God can do the amazing and the impossible for His good purposes. Though we may succumb to sinful doubts like Sarah ( Genesis 16&18), they do not have to finish our story. The Lord will bring joyful laughter to our hearts, if we wait in patient trust.
His promises never fail arriving in their impeccable timing and form. Remember Sarah’s testimony, and laugh with her.

Marvel at our omnipotent Redeemer.
